HILL 504 - KAPYONG Battle Hoodie
23th April 1951, Hill 504, Kapyong Valley, South Korea. 37°52′36″N 127°31′48″E
The 3rd Infantry Battalion of The Royal Australian Regiment, 3 RAR; consisiting of 700 men, valiantly fought and held Hill 504 against upwards of 5000 Chinese Communist 'Human Wave' attacks. 3 RAR then made a tactical withdrawl through the night, until Anzac morning on 25th. The Battatlion earned a US Presidential Citation of recognition for thier actions that day.
The Commemorative Hoody is Green near colour spec (symbolising the rifle green) as a homage to the rifle green colour of the Infantry Beret.
Emblazoned on the left sleeve is our 550 P.E.D. Logo and the words 'HILL 504' HOLD THE LINE', as in honour of the battle, and to those who gave thier all.
On the right sleeve is a subdued ANF with the words ' 38th PARALLEL' paying tribute, to the division lines know as the 38th Parrallel, diving North & South Korea.
On the back (upper) is the RAR Badge and Roman numeral 3, for 3 RAR. The words KAPYONG, Korea over two Australians manning the infamous 'Vickers Machine Gun', with the words HOLD THE LINE, 38th Parrallel and flags of supporting countries, that were also in the battle.
